Perinatologist Appointment Deux!

Awesome appointment yet again! If you've just come across this blog let me explain a few things first. A perinatologist is specialist in high risk pregnancies. Obviously with three babies this pregnancy is high risk but the babies that are sharing a placenta add an even bigger risk. So just to take precaution my perinatologist wants to see me every two weeks.

Today he said all the babies are measuring perfectly for almost 11 weeks. He's going to schedule me for an NT scan sometime probably next week to get a closer look at the babies.

This weekend I'm going out with a bunch of girlfriends and I'm going to tell them about the babies! Yes, I'm going to spill the beans! I 'm more scared to tell them then I was to tell my family and Jake's. Four out of five of my friends are pregnant so no that makes four out of six of us girls are knocked up! It's crazy how it all worked out. We're due from September up until December when my babies are due. I'll let y'all know how it goes!

Home Away From Home

This weekend, most of my extended family met at my grandparent's cottage as it was their 55th wedding anniversary. We usually go annually on Victoria Day weekend but with my grandparents anniversary happening to land on Sunday we all collectively decided to go up there last weekend. It's always a blast! Of course with everyone together Jake and I decided we may as well spill the beans. We were going to wait until the second trimester to tell extended family and friends but since everyone was there and nothing medically bad has come up I figured why not? We got there Friday night and on Saturday morning we always do a huge breakfast so when we were all seated and almost done eating I stood up and said, "Well Grammie and Gramps, since you guys were such amazing grandparents Jake and I decided to to make you great-grandparents!" There was a lot of gasps and no ways! but everyone was so excited! Then we pulled out the ultrasound pictures and showed them Baby A and said, "This is the baby" and pointed to Baby B and said, "and this is the other baby" and pointed to Baby C and said, "and this is the last baby". Everyone was speechless until I said, "We're having triplets" and then there was a lot of gasps, "no ways" and explitives from people I didn't even know knew those kinds of words. After a lot of reasurring that yes this is our ultrasound and yes the doctor is sure there are three, everyone was over the moon excited.

We came home Sunday and got back to reality Monday. I have a perinatologist appointment tomorrow and I'm oddly nervous! Oh well, we'll see how it goes!

Safe to Eat Cookie Dough

Okay so I work in a highschool obviously and today the home ec class made safe to eat cookie dough. Here's the recipe I scooped from my co-worker:

Makes about 1.5 - 2 cups of cookie dough
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter (softened)
3/4 cups brown sugar (packed)
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Water
Directions:
In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar. Stif in flour, salt, vanilla, and chocolate chips. Add water one tablespoon at a time (stirring between each) until the dough reaches cookie dough consistancy.

Yeah, you're welcome...
